Acceptance of these terms

By using the Learn Punjabi website or Android app ("the site"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses Learn Punjabi.

What Learn Punjabi is

Learn Punjabi is a free educational resource for learning the Punjabi language, the Gurmukhi script, and Punjabi culture. It is provided for personal, non-commercial learning. There is no account, subscription, or purchase required to use it.

Using the site

You're welcome to use Learn Punjabi for your own learning and to share links to it. When using the site, you agree not to:

  • Copy, scrape, or republish substantial portions of our content as your own, whether on another website, app, or product.
  • Use automated tools to harvest content or place unreasonable load on the site.
  • Attempt to disrupt, hack, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems.
  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.

Intellectual property

The lessons, written explanations, structure, design, and original graphics on Learn Punjabi are our intellectual property or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. The Punjabi language, the Gurmukhi script, and traditional cultural and religious material are, of course, a shared heritage that belongs to everyone - our copyright covers the way we have explained, arranged, and presented these things, not the heritage itself.

You may use and reference the material for your personal learning and education. For any other use - such as reproducing our content in a classroom resource, publication, or commercial product - please get in touch first.

Accuracy and cultural content

We work hard to keep our lessons accurate and to represent Sikh and Punjabi traditions respectfully and correctly. That said, language learning involves regional variation, and cultural and historical topics can be interpreted in different ways. The content is offered for general educational purposes and may contain simplifications or occasional errors. If you spot something that seems wrong or could be handled with more care, we genuinely want to hear about it - email hello@learnpunjabi.net.

No warranty

Learn Punjabi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee that the site will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet any particular learning outcome. Your use of the site is at your own discretion and risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Learn Punjabi and the people behind it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.

Links to other sites

Learn Punjabi contains links to third-party websites (for example, references and further reading) and relies on third-party services such as Google. We don't control those sites and services and aren't responsible for their content or their practices. Following external links is at your own risk, and their terms and policies apply to your use of them.

The Android app

Our Android app presents the Learn Punjabi website as an installable app and is distributed through Google Play. Your download and use of the app are additionally subject to Google Play's Terms of Service.

Changes to the site and these terms

We may update, add to, or remove parts of the site at any time, and we may revise these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without affecting any statutory consumer rights you have in your own country of residence.
